Little Crackd Rabbit is an imprint established by the people behind Manchester-based
Little Red Rabbit Records. With a focus on outsider elements, the label unearths
recordings of darkly ambient, improvisational and experimental works. The design
aesthetic is consistent across all releases on the label. Each glass-mastered CD is
available in a beautifully-packaged hand-printed letterpress edition with inserts incl.
a numbercard unique to each copy. A subscription option is also available featuring
four releases per year (or thereabouts), housed in a box enclosure handmade by book
artist Gemma Lacey. All letterpress printing is by Red Plate Press and each release
project is accompanied by the films of K. Craig.

ABOUT
Victory Over The Sun is a collaborative album project bringing together Mark Harris
and JOHN 3:16. Harris is an artist, musician and programer based in the West Midlands
with a strong interest in systems and generative processes in music. JOHN 3:16 is the
nom-de-plume of Philadelphia, USA-based Philippe Gerber, former frontman with Heat
From A Dead Star. Seamlessly bringing together personal influences ranging from dark
ambient, the heavier end of shoegaze and electronic systems music, the five tracks
here coalesce into an immersive soundworld that integrates the best of their solo work.

Vienna-based violinist Mia Zabelka with Czech, Jewish and French family background.
Produced by Lydia Lunch and mixed by Weasel Walter (of the Flying Luttenbachers),
the album sees Zabelka exploring the limits of sound in a language entirely her own,

Norman Westberg will be a name familiar to many for his work with Swans from the
1980s to the present day, but his output extends well beyond that group.The NewYork
City-based guitarist has more recently been making a name for himself via a reissue
series on Lawrence English’s Room40 label. ‘The Chance To’ is his first new music
recorded since 2016’s ‘The All Most Quiet’ album on the Hallow Ground label.
Many listeners to Westberg’s solo recordings have noted the depth and subtlety of his
compositions and these four tracks are no exception.They have a rare ability to echo
both the clarity of minimalism and the maximal intensity of the best overdriven rock
bands. Opening track ‘Andrea F’ is a case in point, moving from clashing overtones
to an almost-choral central section before introducing pitched bass tones that move
the track into a new realm.There are moments elsewhere that have an unsettling quality,
but the patience and care taken with the sounds ensures the album as a whole retains
a warm humanity rather than moving into alienating territories. Fundamentally, there
is always a lightness of touch to Westberg’s compositions.

LCR are proud to announce the new album by P J Philipson, the follow-up to his highly
acclaimed (and sold-out) 2014 album ‘Peaks’ that became a firm favourite of Gideon Coe
and Stuart Maconie on BBC 6 Music.
‘Linotopia’ is an album of dreamy, spatial guitar music in which electric and acoustic
instruments, tone generators and the occasional field recording have been modified
through dynamic, time and spatial processes to form fluid harmonic shapes and juddering
rhythmic layers. This studio and production expertise is allied to a powerful melodic
sensibility at the core of Philipson’s instinctive playing.
Inspiration for the album has been found in the former Linotype Works on the edge of
the Manchester suburbs, Gaston Bachelard’s writing in ‘The Poetics of Space’, and the
music of Vini Reilly, Manuel Gottsching, Conny Veit and Steve Reich amongst others.
Peter Philipson has been making sounds using guitars in his home city of Manchester
for over 20 years and for the last six years has been playing guitar for Jane Weaver
(Fire Records) on her two latest albums and live shows.
